Explore the rugged Mediterranean coastline east of Marseille, up to a clifftop fortified village and to the colorful port of Cassis. Take in stunning azure water, soaring cliffs and the fjord like calanques.

Start your tour in the fortified village of Le Castellet. Stroll medieval street and try local gourmet products, including Bandol wines, gourmet olive oil, and lavender soap.

Next up is Cassis. Find our why local poet Frédéric Mistral once said, “Who has seen Paris and not Cassis, has not seen anything”. It is an ideal spot to soak up the Mediterranean sun.

Next head up the Route des Crete’s to Cap Canaille, France’s highest sea-side cliffs, for dramatic views.

(Note: The Route des Crete’s road is closed on Sundays and may close on short notice due to weather conditions. If the road is closed, upi will instead spend more time exploring Cassis and/or La Ciotat.)
