The Mauritshuis is a Dutch museum in The Hague. It is named after its founder, the Grand Pensionary of Holland Johan Maurits, Baron of Wassenaer and son of the Dutch stadtholder William II. The Mauritshuis was founded in 1765 as a private collection by consul-general Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen. It has been open to the public since 1819.

The new church was designed by Pierre Cuypers who also designed the Rijksmuseum and the Amsterdam Central Station.
