Join us on a 2-hour walk through Rotterdam and experience the contrast between its postmodern architecture and its devastating history. The city, which began as a fishing village 800 years ago, quickly grew to become the most important transport and cruise center in the Netherlands.
On May 14, 1940, the city center was bombed by the Nazis. As a sign of the city's true resilience, Rotterdam was rebuilt from its ashes into one of the most impressive skylines in Europe.
Our guides are expert storytellers and locals, ready to engage with great stories about the city's past and modern culture. Plus, we'll advise you on which places to visit, where to wine and dine, and which tourist traps to avoid.
We meet at the main entrance of the Market Hall 15 minutes before the start of the tour, near Blaak Station. You can recognize your guide by the white umbrella, spot him in front of the revolving doors at the main entrance. Our tour ends right where we start.
