For a traveller more than a tourist. Yes, you'll explore the wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Convent of Christ and Tomar Castle, that's a given. But this tour gets into the nooks and crannies and the people who died building it.
There is a lot of bloodshed, death and hidden horror in Tomar's history, it was built by soldiers. The Saint murdered for love, the massacre of Jews, wars, battles, adventure, great armies, crusades and grief. It's not just pretty windows in churches, although there are a few of those too. I will point out places to visit after we part too, museums, restaurants, bars. You'll enhance your time with all my shortcuts.
My tour is like walking around a city with a friend telling you why he loves his home so much. And if you don't laugh then I'll give you your money back.

Engineering Marvel: This impressive 17th-century aqueduct stretches 6 km and supplied water to the Convent of Christ. This is 2km walk added on to the tour. I'm very willing to take whoever wants to see it, but if it's a bridge too far you can give it a miss and finish in the Convent, it's your call.
