Folks, this is a no-brainer. Come have a blast making some new friends on a nice boat, while scoping out Lake Austin's breathtaking views and jaw-dropping real estate.
Meetup is at Loop 360 Boat ramp under Pennybacker Bridge. After boarding the boat, we will explore the secret canal known as "Little Italy" or "Little Venice" and the array of multi million dollar mansions that lie within.
Then we will travel to the south end of the lake, taking note of the dam that separates Lake Austin from Lady Bird Lake.
Next, we will get a close look at two of Austin's most iconic lakeside attractions, Mozarts Coffee Roasters and Hula Hut.
From this area we will head to SKI SHORES CAFE, an island themed beach bar and grill right on the water!
After spending 30 minutes at Ski Shores Cafe, we will leisurely cruise back to the meeting spot: Loop 360 Boat Ramp under Pennybacker Bridge.
Please note that all traveling on the water will be done at a slow and comfortable, non-bumpy speed :)
Please note there is a $5.00 per person entry fee to enter the park. Cash only. Loop 360 boat ramp is easy to find using Google Maps. Address: 5019 TX-360 Loop, Austin, TX 78746 When you enter the park, you will find me by the water directly under the giant bridge. Name company: STAY GOLD ATX
This activity ends back at the meeting point.
This is the lake we will be cruising on as we pass by all the attractions. Lake Austin is a constant level lake, which allows its stunning landscapes to sit just a couple feet above the water. It is part of the Lower Colorado River and sectioned off my two dams. The northern end is at Mansfield Dam, which is where Lake Austin ends and Lake Travis begins. The southern end is at Tom Miller dam, which separates Lake Austin from Lady Bird Lake. Lake Austin is known to contain the third most expensive waterfront property in the country.

First opened to the public in 1982, Pennybacker is the famous bridge under which we meet at the start of our trip. Also called Loop 360 Bridge, it provides a connection between north and South Austin without long detours around the lake. Fun (and sometimes confusing) fact: Loop 360 is also called Capital of Texas Highway.

Mount Bonnell, located inside Covert Park, is a historic cliffside park that provides hikers unique views of the city and lake. It happens to be right above the Elon Musk house, which we will also get a close look at. Mount Bonnell has been a tourist attraction since 1850. It is the highest point within Austin City Limits at 785 feet Romantic side note: There is a legend that Mount Bonnell was once called Antoinette's Leap, named after a damsel who leaped to her death to avoid capture from Indians that killed her lover, who fought to his death to defend her.

Founded in 1993 during the boom in this area, Hula Hut is a true Austin classic. This lakeside bar and grill boasts traditional tex-mex combined with Hawaiian and Polynesian influences to create a "Mexonesian" style. We will pass by Hula Hut without stopping. Just like Mozart's, Hula Hut has a massively stunning visual presence on Lake Austin.

Opened in 1993, this is Austin's most visually stunning coffee shop, which also happens to be lakeside. As we pass by, we will get a close look of it's vibrant patio and might even catch a bit of live music!

Here we will come to the southern end of the lake at Tom Miller Dam, which separates Lake Austin and Lady Bird Lake. The City of Austin constructed this dam for the purpose of flood control and for generating hydroelectric power. The dam began operating in 1940 and is located at the site of the city's two previous dams, each of which were destroyed during major floods. It is currently leased to the Lower Colorado River Authority, who maintains and operates the dam.

This is the Austin Country Club, where the Dell Match Play golf tournament is televised. The edge of the golf course comes all the way down to the water, so we will likely get very close to some golfers. You can ask them what their favorite club is :)

Recently reopened after a massive renovation, Ski Shores Cafe is a hip island themed bar and grill right on the water. This is where we will make our pit stop. Guests will have 30 minutes to enjoy a quick bite if they wish. No reservations needed. The cocktails are fantastic :)
