The V.I.B (Very Independent Brighton) Walking Food Tour

A wonderful three hours, led by Claire. Learned a lot, tried fabulous food and felt reconnected to all the independent foodmakers who deserve support and recognition.

Have just returned from a fantastic walking/ food tasting tour with our brilliant guide Gill. She took us to amazing places for our tastings , giving us interesting anecdotes along the way. Everywhere we went we were served delicious food by friendly and informative people. We learned so much about how the food was prepared and about the local produce used. We will certainly return to the places we visited for more. Thank you Gill, it was great to spend time in your company and we’ll certainly recommend you and the tour itself to friends and family.

Lovely tour with the wonderful Gill as our guide. Been to Brighton many times and even lived there for a while, but Gill was still able to teach me a few things I did not know. It was also amazing that they were able to accommodate the fact that my sister and I don't drink or eat meat/pork. As with (almost) everything in Brighton, it was comfortably inclusive!

We’ve lived in Brighton for 10+ years and thought we knew it all. The tour still managed to surprise us with some new (and delicious) local independents!

The tour was excellent. We visited a whole bunch of places that I'd never even thought to have gone to before. They'd clearly thought quite a lot about the kind of places that would be appropriate and Simone's knowledge of the places was excellent. Cat was also really easy to deal with in the booking process and was happy to add on a few extras late in the piece, which made the trip really good fun. We had a baby in a sling as well - worked a treat. Weather also played into it, which was good!

What a fantastic tour, Alex was a brilliant guide leading us aound five independent eateries in Brighton whilst weaving in history about the city. We met some really passionate people who talked enthusiastically about their food and of course tasted some really delicious samples, and you will finish the tour feeling well fed! Alex also made recommendations for dinner that evening - Alex if you read this Chilli Pickle was the best Indian I have been to, thank you!

We weren't sure what to expect, but the tour was so much more than just walking round the streets nibbling on a few things! Even though we are local and my husband has grown up around Brighton, we visited welcoming, independent traders we never knew existed and tasted fabulous food. Our guide Gill was lots of fun and very knowledgeable about the area as well as the food and even managed to take us to a pub my husband had last visited when he was 17 years old! We have already been back to take friends to taste some of the great food and made sure we told the traders the VIB tour had introduced us to them. Best tip is to make sure you have not eaten before you go!

I haven’t stopped talking about this experience since I arrived home. Alex, our guide, was really personal and very knowledgeable. Every place we visited had an amazing back story. The food at every stop was stunning. It surpassed my expectations. I would recommend this to anyone with a love for food,

I chose the VIB food tour for my hen do (16 of us!). The tour was so well organised with great communication beforehand about food intolerances and dietary requirements all catered for. Claire & Simone (our guides) were fun, knowledgeable and kept the tour well paced. It was great to discover some hidden gems & what a great variety of food, from Vietnamese, vegan, beer, cheese & wine. All the girls loved it!
