Domenico Modugno was an artist from Polignano who marked the history of Italian music and beyond. His famous "Volare", mistakenly known by some as "Nel blu dipinto di blu", is an ambassador of Italian music in the world and it is said that the artist wrote it thinking precisely of the cliffs of this splendid city where he was born in 1928. Polignano wanted to dedicate a statue to him, created by the Argentine sculptor Hermann Mejer, which depicts the artist with his arms wide open as if wanting to embrace his hometown.

The Scoglio dell'Eremita is a place steeped in legend and suggestion, set like a gem in the crystalline sea of Polignano. To reach this solitary rock, you have to rely on small boats that ply the waters of the bay. Once you reach the base of the rock, the origin of the name appears clear: its peculiar shape, eroded by the wind and waves, recalls the figure of a monk in prayer, with his head bowed and his hands clasped.

The Palazzese Cave is an almost unreal place, where nature has masterfully shaped a unique location in the world. Once you cross the threshold of this cavity overlooking the sea, you find yourself catapulted into a dimension suspended between sky and sea. The cave, with an even older origin than the famous Blue Grotto, was literally dug out by erosion on the side of the limestone cliff. The internal environment is dominated by the living rock, which drops sheer to the water, and by the sky that generously overlooks it.
