Westerbork
Upon arrival at the Westerbork, you will explore the one-half square kilometer area that welcomed more than 102,000 Jews (and other races) on their way to the concentration and extermination camps in Auschwitz, Sobibór, Theresienstadt and Bergen-Belsen.
Compared to the camps built for the purpose of industrial murder, Camp Westerbork was considered by Nazi standards as “humane”, yet most of its prisoners, like Anne Frank and Etty Hillesum, didn’t survive the war. During the tour you will learn about the daily life inside the camp, the Judenrat, and cultural activities organized by Nazis. See the original train tracks, the Monument of 102,000 stones, the National Westerbork Memorial, and more.
3 Hours • Admission Ticket Free
After a guided walk around Camp Westerbork, you will also have a chance to visit the memorial museum on your own. See a room filled with personal belongings of murdered Jews, the railway carriage sign reading “Westerbork – Auschwitz; Auschwitz – Westerbork”, and other touching exhibitions

The guide will only accompany you to the site of the former camp. Guides are not allowed in the Westerbork Memorial Museum, so you will see the exhibitions on your own. Admission tickets are included.
The distance between the museum and the camp is more than 3 km, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. This distance can only be covered on foot or with the shuttle bus.
We will arrange private transfers by standard car (sedan) for groups of 1-4 people and by larger van for groups of 5 people and more. You can book a tour for more people to travel in a larger vehicle.
We will arrange private transfers by bus for groups of more than 7 people. Due to restrictions on the entry of buses into the city center, the pickup point will be scheduled at the nearest tourist bus stop if your hotel/accommodation is in the bus-free zone. We will inform you of the exact pick up point via email so please check how to get there, as it may be a few minutes walk from your accommodation.
