Escape is a clean and beautiful map tool that helps you search the cheapest flights for your travel from your hometown. Finding a cheap flight isn’t that tough now, it seems.
You can search for a destination that you wish to travel to. The routes for which will pop up in different colours letting you know the cost that is perfect for your trip.
This beautiful tool is designed by the Singapore-based team of the MIT Senseable City Lab. They call this tool an “inspirational flight search engine,” that helps them to aggregate the lowest-price destinations for your available dates. Escape got launched at the end of 2018 and has now started to gain attention.
Here is the information you need to input when on the landing page:
- Departure Airport
- Travel Date range
Once you input all this information, the landing page becomes a colourful map with routes available that you can filter according to your budget, visa requirements, popularity and weather filters. When this level is achieved, you will see the breakdown of the prices below your screen and when you click on the fares the page will zoom into greater clarity with the routes.
Unfortunately, users can not filter by major airlines as they can with google flights but you’ll be able to see helpful details about your potential destination at the top left of the page.
The site also scans other flight comparison tools like Skyscanner and Kiwi to show more reliable data.
There still has been improvements going on with the tool. There are a few features that the tool needs improvement. One of those is that if your travel dates are more flexible you might not be able to use Escape as efficiently. Their most requested feature is the one-way flight which is an add on to the tool.
This tool might inspire you to travel more. Beware!
