Piazza della Repubblica (Republic Square) is the ancient Roman forum, then Old Market and now “salotto buono” of Florence. You will discover the historical development of the square starting from the Forum of Florentia, marked by the Column of Abundance to the present appearance. Today is home to the historical Caffé Gilli, Caffé Paskowski and Caffé delle Giubbe Rosse which were meeting points for many of the city's artists and writers in the past.
