Nazare
Nazaré is a pictorial village, transformed into a tourist site with an intense past, well portrayed in its architectural heritage, with many churches and traditional houses that bring a very picturesque atmosphere, being the first place of worship in Portugal. In the recent past, the phenomenon of Canhão da Nazaré, phenomenal waves that made Nazaré famous throughout the world, and in 2013 the American surfer McNamara broke the world record by surfing a wave about 30 meters high. Another curious thing are the “seven skirts” of the wives of Nazareth, which they proudly show to visitors.

Obidos
Óbidos (a UNESCO world heritage site), we will go back in time as we walk through the beautiful, narrow streets full of traditional shops, along the old white-painted houses, passing by their walls and imagining what the medieval period was like there. Óbidos was used as a wedding gift from D. Dinis to his wife D. Isabel. The village became part of the Casa das Rainhas, which only became extinct in 1834, and most of the Portuguese queens passed through there, leaving great benefits. D. We will leave Lisbon towards Évora, the residence of some of the Portuguese kings, a point of convergence for world-famous artists, supported by the patronage and dynasty that reign in Portugal. The period of discoveries was one of glory for Évora, creating particularly favorable conditions for the construction of numerous aristocratic mansions in the city, such as the Jesuit university. From the ancient “Temple of Diana” next to the Évora Cathedral, built in the Roman period, we can see the magnificent “Água da Prata” aqueduct, outside the city walls and which extends from the outskirts of the city. Some of its arches are still visible within the city, built in the 16th century to transport water.

Alentejo wine has a unique profile, something that seems impossible to happen in a region with a hot and dry climate, making it essential to add water to the vineyard, a very sunny area with soils and reliefs that allow the grapes to ripen perfectly. It is a practically flat region that produces white wines that are generally smooth, slightly acidic and with aromas of tropical fruits, the red wines are full-bodied, rich in tannins and with aromas of wild and red fruits. Another option for our day will be a visit to a cork processing factory, cork is the bark of a Cork Oak, with excellent characteristics, light, elastic and fire resistant, among others. Each year the bark grows, however, only every nine years should it be removed from the tree, definitely an excellent protection for the tree against heat, cold and fires. Once removed from the tree, new bark will form. Portugal is responsible for 55% of the world's cork production, valued worldwide in decorative cork coverings on walls and floors, being the ideal material for the manufacture of sporting goods, such as baseballs or handles for fishing rods.
