Overview
This is the most easy and accessible opportunity to have an up-close and personal interaction with these magical creatures - reindeer! Reindeer have all kinds of incredible adaptations that make them so unique and interesting, not least of which being, their big hairy lips that you'll see as they munch the leaves, lichen, and feed that you offer them. You'll learn all kinds of other fascinating facts about reindeer and have all kinds of wonderful photo opportunities throughout this experience.

Pull into the 2nd driveway on the right at The Reindeer Grove and park as close to the front door of the cabin as possible. You may need to use the overflow parking down the hill just a bit. Help yourself inside the cabin and your experience will start there.

What To Expect
This 30 minute Reindeer Meet and Feed experience is our most accessible (great for families with kids!) experience that we offer at The Reindeer Grove, and is geared around a quick and easy introduction to our reindeer. It’s conveniently designed and timed for those on their way out-of-town (10am), to fill in a gap after breakfast or before lunch, or if the longer experiences seem too daunting. This experience includes a complementary beverage, an introduction to the ‘deer, the ability to feed the ‘deer, photo opportunities, and more than likely a chance to pet our resident reindeer. Our reindeer always reserve the right to have a cranky day where humans should give them some space. You’ll be regaled with fun and interesting facts about reindeer, what it takes to raise reindeer in Alaska, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any question that might arise regarding these magical creatures. You’ll walk away from this tour with a cursory knowledge of reindeer, incredible photos, and an interaction to remember!
