Saltstraumen
Join me for an admirable 3-hour guided tour to Saltstraumen, the world's strongest tidal whirlpool. Considered one of the most dangerous, Saltstraumen has claimed around 60 lives in the past 60 years, with only a few bodies ever recovered. The unique geological landscape causes anything caught in the stream to be pulled down to the fjord's depths, making resurfacing nearly impossible. As we venture to this breathtaking natural phenomenon, you’ll enjoy typical Norwegian snacks and learn about the rich history of Saltstraumen. Thanks to the powerful tide that prevents freezing and supports vibrant marine life, humans have inhabited Saltstraumen’s banks since the Stone Age. Archaeologists have unearthed a 10,000-year-old hunting settlement here, making it one of Norway’s oldest discoveries. Throughout the tour, I’ll help you capture amazing photos to remember your adventure. Join me for an experience that combines breathtaking natural beauty, fascinating history.
