Overview
Fautaua waterfall is the biggest easy accessible waterfall in the country, it has scenic view. The hike along the river deep in the valley is gorgeous and way up/ down the hill is interesting.
Spectacular lush hills will be visible from both side of the valley. We will learn about local plants and animals as well as about interesting history of the valley, which connected with fighting of Polynesian people for independence.
They way up will pass through several little springs and will lead to spectacular view of the waterfall. Then the road continues going up to historical Fachoda fort and down to the top of the waterfall.
Beautiful natural pool with crystal clear water and little waterfall will invite to have a nice swim there.
The hike down is easy and pleasurable!

This is walking/ hiking Tour, no pick up drop off included. We meet each other at the gate to Fautaua Valley at parking place where the hike starts. Please ask your Hotel/ taxi driver to get you there. They all know the place. At the end of the Tour you call the taxi to get you back to your hotel.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.
What To Expect
Tahiti
Fautaua Valley, lush and gorgeous. We will go along the river and explore nearby landscapes. There are planty of scenic views and a lot of local plants to explore. The road is nice and easy and during this part of hike we will present you some historical and cultural information about the area.

Optionally we could explore marae, ancient Polynesian temple made out of volcanic rocks used for spiritual cereminies. To go to narae we will cross little river and will discuss some facts about spiritual practics of ancient Polynesians.

Fautaua Waterfall
We will explore a big waterfall from scenic photo lookout point. Great pictures, gorgeous mountains and rain forest. We will reat at this point to be ready to continue our hike.

We will pass to the highest point on top of the waterfall and explore fresh water natural pool with optional swimming and optional lava tube sliding. here we will eat our lunch and make plenty of beautiful pictures.
