Beyond the red light districts and boxing matches, Bangkok’s nightlife is thriving. The city is famous for its go-go bars; there are nightclubs with themed interiors, state-of-the-art sound systems, and sick beats. The party culture in Bangkok is so prevalent that in Soi Nana district in Chinatown, houses are revamped into welcoming bars. Areas like Khao San Road, Sukhumvit, Silom, and Royal City Avenue, more popularly known as ACA and Chinatown, are some of the places where parties go on in full swing. Different nightclubs in Bangkok draw huge crowds with their huge dancefloors, varied music ranging from EDM to hip hop, food, and drinks, and more.

The Best Nightclubs In Bangkok To Satisfy The Party Animal In You

1. Bangkok Meets China: Sing Sing Theatre

One of the most famous nightclubs in Bangkok, Sing Sing Theatre has Chinese theatre themed interiors and weekly LGBT nights. The dance floor will blow your mind, and the drinks are very affordable. The décor of this theatre and nightclub is very unique where the massive dance floor is lined with cages and Chinese lanterns. The red lights hanging from the high ceilings complete the mysterious vibe of the place. It’s known for hosting international DJs and artists. But being one of the most visited nightclubs in Bangkok has its downsides too. Weekends at Sing Sing Theatre are usually quite crowded, so if you want a place with a chill vibe this is not your place. Weekdays are quite enjoyable with hip hop, ladies’ night and live performances. There is also a hidden cigar bar. The Opium Mixed Drinks menu is also a must-try when you visit.

Where: Sukhumvit 45 Alley, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok

Entry Fee: Free, except when there are international DJs and live performances.

Onyx’s main stage has two levels—the first one has a dancefloor, a bar, and a classy lounge, whereas the second floor has a VIP section. It also plays house, trance, electro, and progressive music. Additionally, there is a second room called Odyssey which caters to an underground dance music genre. World-class EDM DJs and dance artists visit the nightclub to perform. Men need to be formally dressed to enter.

Glow reverberates with bass-heavy beats of techno and trance. One of the oldest nightclubs in Bangkok, Glow has made drastic contributions to the electronic music culture in Bangkok since 2005. The nightclub brings in internationally famous artists, but also opens its stage to local aspiring talent. It boasts a state-of-the-art sound system called Funktion-One that makes sure you feel the beats. The venue might seem a little smaller than other nightclubs in Bangkok, but it makes Glow cosy. Also, there are two levels, a top level with seats and a balcony where you can watch the dancefloor, and the bottom level with the main dance floor.

Where: 96/4 Soi Sukhumvit 23, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

Entry Fee: $10.

4. Relieving Music Experiences: Beam

If you’re wondering where the young hipster crowd hangs out, it’s at Beam. Beam is one of the nightclubs in Bangkok that’s on the fancier side, so you cannot go in wearing beach sandals. Chartbusters have no place in Beam. Their music is alternative deep techno and house. The nightclub has a VOID Acoustics sound system, which means that club-goers have a mind-blowing time listening to the music. Beam aims to present people with an amazing and memorable musical experience.

5. Dark, Cryptic And Of The Past: Maggie Choo’s

Incredibly classy, Maggie Choo’s is a Shanghai-themed bar. The nightclub has DJs and stage shows. It is one of the nightclubs in Bangkok that is home to international jazz bands and singers. Situated in a basement, the nightclub gives off an underground-cabaret and opium den vibe. It’s exotic enough to have women on swings suspended from the high ceilings. But on Sundays, the nightclub’s Gay Night features famous drag queen performances. The whole club is an experience with a hidden entrance behind a black curtain in the corner of the restaurant, vaults, statues of Queen Victoria, and oil paintings. With an enigmatic feel, delicious cocktails, live jazz music, and DJs and rock bands on the weekends, Maggie Choo is the place to be.

Where: Fenix Novotel 320, Maha Nakhon 10500 Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok

Entry Fee: Free.

6. Different Levels Of Enjoyment: Levels Club And Lounge

A variety of music that keeps people grooving is one of the attractions of this nightclub. It also has a rooftop lounge and two additional rooms that have music like EDM, hip hop, and R&B. The three levels each offer a different ambience—a terrace bar with MCs and DJs in the first, the second room offers a darker, tunnel-like setting blasting with EDM and DJs like Todd Terry and Jay Hardway, and the main club area with a huge star-shaped chandelier, high ceilings, dance floor, and hip hop comprise the third. Like other Bangkok clubs this has various promotional nights, with theme parties and ladies nights on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Check their social media pages. There is no particular dress code, but casual attire like flip flops are not allowed.

Another nightclub famous for EDM, but done up in a retro-style is DND, with international artists and live emcees. The nightclub also makes way for local Thai artists like Polycat, Getsunova, and UrboyTj. The interiors give off an old-fashioned vibe with vintage television sets and a smoking room that looks like a barbershop. It is a Thai-style Bangkok nightclub in the sense that people order alcohol by the bottle instead of a peg or drink.

Where: 217/8, Nunglen, Ekkamai Road, Bangkok
