12Tips to keep in mind

I wanted to give you guys some small, practical steps to take that weren’t overwhelming. These might seem simple but I know from experience they can really help ??⁣ ⁣ ? Celebrating small wins⁣ Use my template (it’s in my highlight), write them down on a piece of paper each day or think of 5 things you’ve done well each day before you go to sleep. Remember that these “wins” will look different right now to a few days/weeks ago because of what is happening right now.⁣ ⁣ ? Taking a nap or rest⁣ As we discussed yesterday, if you’re feeling more anxious than normal you’ll be using up extra mental and physical energy. You’ll need more rest because of this.⁣ ⁣ ? Asking for help⁣ This can be really difficult for a lot of us. We WANT to be able to do it all. We might have past experiences that mean it is not in our nature to ask. Your brain may tell you otherwise, but people DO want to help. Especially right now.⁣ ⁣ ? Listening to an audiobook or podcast⁣ It’s not healthy to permanently ignore your feelings. However, it’s also not useful to be wrapped up in anxious thoughts all day. Try audiobooks if you haven’t before. My personal recommendation? Harry Potter! I wasn’t a massive fan before, but when I was poorly they helped me soooo much. Stephen Fry’s calming voice, another world to get lost in and amazing value for money (some of them are 27 hours long ?)⁣ ⁣ ? Setting 3 realistic goals per day⁣ In January and February I was in a complete freeze state. Then I adopted this approach. It has made SUCH a difference. No more feeling like a failure every day, I’m getting a sense of achievement which spurs me on more and most importantly I’m no longer overwhelmed.⁣ ⁣ Hope these help ❤️ Please feel free to leave any other practical, simple steps below! It could really help someone ??✨⁣ ⁣ ⁣ -⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #mentalhealthtips #selfcompassion #mentalhealthquotes #mentalhealthadvice #selfcaretips #mentalhealthquote #anxietyadvice #anxietytips #selfreminders #selfcarejourney #healingjourney #selflovequotes #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthadvocate #mentalhealthawareness #mentalwellbeing #mentalwellness #selfcarequotes #mentalwellbeing #wordsoftheday
