Your skin is exposed to so much sunlight and so much dirt while you are travelling. Dirt gets accumulated in your skin pores which you are supposed to clean on a daily basis or else your skin will get infected. So keep a cleanser in your bag to remove the dirt and makeup at the end of your tiring day.

There are soap-free cleansers available in the market. Forest Essentials, Himalaya, and The Body Shop are the cleansers that are really effective and refresh your skin. They also hydrate your skin and does not make you feel dry or itchy. This comes in small packaging, you can even keep them in your bag and step one for skin care during summer is done.

Moisturising the skin cells is important

Most of the beauty products available in the market have alcohol in it that makes the skin dry. Always carry a small pack or bottle of moisturizer handy in your bag. Apply an intense moisturizer the night before travel, this will keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. Prefer a moisturizer which is light but still hydrating. Heavy moisturizers make your skin very oily. Choose moisturiser according to your skin type.

You should also use a moisturiser that suits the weather. In summer, there can be places that are humid and those that have a dry heat. Humid weather makes you sweat and hence your skin naturally releases toxins in the form of sweat, a light hydrating moisturiser that is gel based or like serum is a good option. Avoid oil-based or very heavy moisturiser as these will make your face feel more oily and sticky and will have you sweat more profusely. Dry heat can be as bad as winter dryness despite the hot weather and the shining sun. Use a good hydrating moisturiser to keep your skin from drying up.

Apart from there is a general classification of heavy and a light moisturisers, there is a lot more to moisturisers and how best to choose them. You may not know but there are four types of moisturisers for your skin. According to the amount of dryness present in your skin, select amongst these hydrators and your skin care for summer travel will be on track.

Humectants

This hydrator particularly attracts water to your skin and keeps it hydrated. When you pick up a moisturiser for yourself look for Glycerin, lactic acid, urea, hyaluronic acid and alpha hydroxy acid (AHAs) in the ingredients.

These work best on dry skins in the humid areas.

Ceramides

Ceramides are naturally present in the skin. If the skin is dry or damaged, it means that the ceramides in the skin are damaged. So replenishing them is important. Look for ceramide as an ingredient in moisturisers.

It is suitable for all types of skin.

Occlusives

These hydrators are good for dehydrated skins. Mostly these moisturisers are made of hazelnut oil and avocado.

These are heavy moisturisers and are mostly used for body and not for face.

Emollients

There are gaps between the cells of the skin, that lack moisturising lipid. Emollients are used to fill those gaps. They are usually oil based and helps the skin to be hydrated for a longer time.

Ingredients that you have to look for are Lanolin and mineral oil.
