Situated just 83 kilometres away, Nalgonda is a popular weekend getaway from Hyderabad. It is known for its many ancient ruins. Prominent among them is the 10th century Bhongir Fort, as well as the Rachakonda and Devarakonda forts. You can also visit the nearby ruins of a Buddhist monastery and pillared hall at Nandikonda Village, or the Sri Laxminarsimha Swamy and Chhaya Somalingeswara Temples.
