I am a mountain girl who went to the Andaman and had a fine beach experience. After all the adventures, I still love the hills!  But for those who love beaches so much, this island is an apt destination and there are definitely lots of things to do in the Andamans.

There are numerous sightseeing spots, water activities, and activities for the nature lovers. You’d least require a week to 10 days to live life to the fullest on this island. However, in my itinerary of 4 Nights, 5 Days, here are some of the things you can explore to have a good experience in the Andamans.

With its beauty of the archipelago of islands, it will not be wrong calling the Andamans an untouched paradise. There will be no end to your to-do list when the wanderlust in you meets the sunny skies, turquoise waters, beaches and all these amazing things to do in the Andamans.

1. Feast At The Best Restaurants

things to do in the andamansThe cuisine of the Andamans is refreshing and exotic, and to experience the best you must visit the right restaurants. They are heaven for non-vegetarians and especially seafood lovers. You can dine at places such as Anju Coco Resto (INR 240-500 for two); Full Moon Cafe (INR 600 for two); Red Snapper (INR  800 for two); Dakshin by Barefoot (INR 600 for two) located in Havelock Island and relish its array of fish curries and other non-veg delicacies.

Fruits are very popular and refreshing too. So, you can find a variety of Mangoes, Bananas, Guava and have a plate full of healthy delicious fruits. You can also sip in the truly tropical coconut water.

2. Go Scuba Diving or Under Sea Walk

If you are a water baby, head to the mesmeric beach in Havelock Island to try these popular experiences. Scuba Diving takes place early in the morning, so make sure you time your schedule accordingly. You can also enjoy an enchanting walk on the sea bed at 15 – 25 ft and discover colourful corals beneath. Well, there’s no better way to get a fish eye view of the marine life, isn’t it?

3. Relax On The Golden Beaches

Located on the western coast of Havelock Island, Radhanagar is one of the best beaches in Andaman. It’s clean white sands, turquoise waters and lush green palm trees make it a perfect place for a stroll, swimming or even snorkelling. You can also spend time at the Elephant beach which can be accessed by a boat ride or a 30-minutes’ jungle trek. (quite a fun trek, do try it). Vijaynagar Beach and Kala Pathar beach are best preferred if solace & serenity is your idea of a holiday.

4. Experience An OffBeat Adventure

Trekking is a perfect experience for nature lovers and Andaman offers one of the finest trek scenes, 20kms away from its capital city, Port Blair. The place so famous, called Chidiya Tapu offers a wonderful view of its 46 varieties of endemic birds and seasonal orchids. You can choose any adventure activity you’d like, but if this sounds interesting,  do take the trek. A bird watcher’s haven, Chidiya Tapu is a delight for the senses.

5. Watch the Light and Sound Show At Cellular Jail

Also known as Kala Pani, this is definitely a must visit when you are in Andaman. Narrating the darkest period in history, the light and sound show unfolds the heart-wrenching history of the prisoners in the jail during the British era. You can attend the show, particularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

There are lots of other things to do in the Andamans. You can check out some other things to do here.
