Billowing in the blue skies has been a very fascinating element for adventure seekers for ages. There are three types of parasailing – Winch Boat, Beach, and Platform. So, whether it is the sea breezes of Goa or the thermal flying conditions of the Western Ghats, or over barren lands of Rajasthan, India is perhaps the best destination to parasail. Parasailing can be enjoyed throughout the year, except during monsoons!

Out of all the parasailing places in India, Rajasthan is one of the most unconventional ones. Parasailing in Rajasthan is usually an annual event that is held in different locations and each year it draws a huge amount of travellers, tourists, and adventure seekers. The sandy expanse, along with the colourful surroundings and open atmosphere bring an enriching experience. Jaisalmer is one of the places you definitely should not miss if you’re an adventure seeker. I visited Jaisalmer during the New Year and this is what I experienced

It was simply mindblowing! You won’t be disappointed as the flight is high and scenic. It’s a real stress-buster activity and does not require any prior training. The adventure can be experienced over short distances or between two towns too. The view from the top of barren sand dunes is a sight and will definitely make you want to come back for more. The duration of the flight I experienced was about 10 minutes. You may request some additional time too. However, it depends on the demand of the activity and the weather as well.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when parasailing in Rajasthan:

Best months to visit – September to February

Best places to try parasailing – Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner are the places where you can enjoy the best parasailing in Rajasthan with a rich slide of culture and heritage

Techniques required for parasailing – To make your parasailing experience more satisfying, ensure you are provided with jackets, helmets, harness, and double triple bar. You need not be experienced or physically fit, however, it’s good to be alert to avoid obstacles.

While you are here, you may also check out paramotoring if it interests you. Paramotoring goes as high as above the Jaisalmer desert and offers a unique adventure as well. One of the best views over the golden dune of Jaisalmer, this activity is worth considering. This activity encourages travellers among all age groups and is pretty safe. The pilot on the craft will control your glide for your complete comfortable experience.
