A newly released study by the Global Wildlife Travel Index places the USA at the top of their list of the top countries in the world for wildlife travel. They looked at various factors, such as wildlife biodiversity, conservation efforts and the numbers of national parks and protected areas while forming their list.
Wildlife travel is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. There are lots of places in the world where you get the opportunity to observe animals in their natural surroundings. With so many destinations to choose from, it can be difficult to know where to begin your journey.
To help narrow this down, True Luxury Travel analysed various countries. “We have ranked every country based on its wildlife travel offering, analysing a variety of factors including wildlife biodiversity, conservation efforts and prevalence of national parks to compile our index,” says their website. This ranking consequently places the USA in the top spot.

With over 60 national parks and 757 natural history museums, the USA also offers a wide range of wildlife experiences. It is also known for its impressive megafauna conservation efforts. They have been ranked as one of the best in the world by the Megafauna Conservation Index.
In the second and third spots are Venezuela and Brazil, which are also known for their high proportions of national parks and protected natural areas. Coming in fourth is Thailand, which is also known for its excellent megafauna conservation efforts, followed by Tanzania rounding out the top 5 destinations for wildlife travel.
