A Quick Sneak Peek Of The Things You Can Do In Kuwait

The State of Kuwait, which is surrounded by Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf, is one of the places you need to visit if you are making a trip to the Middle East. When people think of Gulf they think of places like Dubai, Muscat, and Abha etc. Not many people think of visiting Kuwait. Here is a sneak peek of all the things you can do in Kuwait City which might make you change your mind.

Watersports in Kuwait

I personally am a big fan of water sports and water rides. There’s plenty of water fun to be had in Kuwait around the Persian Gulf. There are enticing sports including sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, and windsurfing. However, tourists need to make detailed inquiries on which beaches are safe, as mines and other explosive devices have been found around certain beaches. Nothing to be scared of but just be cautious and aware.

Things you can do in Kuwait if you’re a landlubber

For those of you who prefer to stay on land, you will find Kuwait City is a good place to visit with its contemporary and laid back areas. One place you ought to visit while you are exploring there is The National Museum, it is situated in the heart of the town and was a building that once contained the Al-Sabah collection, one of the most essential pieces of Islamic art in the world. During the Iraqi occupation, the place got burnt and all that remained was a lobby at the rear of the museum courtyard, used now and again for temporary exhibits. Due to this devastation, the Tareq Rajab Museum was built, which housed another private collection of Islamic art.

What else does Kuwait have to offer?

Another museum close to The National Museum is the Sadu House, which is dedicated to Bedouin arts and crafts and where all you culture-loving people can purchase Bedouin products. These products are beautiful and carefully crafted and can add a different kind of shine to your collectables.

Another treat for architecture lovers is The Kuwait Towers of Swedish design and a sight to behold. This was one of my favorite stops as the 3 towers are an awesome sight to see! The highest of the three towers is 615 feet. The towers have an observation deck, restaurant and banqueting rooms. One can enjoy the view of the city and treat themselves to some yummy food at a great height!

Getting around Kuwait

A plus point of Kuwait is that getting mobile around there is pretty easy as different sorts of local transport are available. The prices vary depending on your choice of an inexpensive local bus or the expensive intercity bus. The intercity will provide a bit more luxury, speed and you will get to travel a bit further!

Taxis are a useful and easy means of transport too, but have no meter! So have a word with the driver and decide on the price as per your travel distance to be covered and do not let them burn a hole in your pocket! Renting a car is also an option that you can consider as the roads are well maintained and a delight to drive on. So climb aboard the next flight and enjoy your trip Habibis!
