The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1994 and 2007.The building complex measures approximately 290 by 420 m (950 by 1,380 ft),covering an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres), excluding exterior landscaping and vehicle parking. The main axis of the building is rotated about 12° south of true west, aligning it in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. In 2004, Sheikh Zayed died and was buried in the courtyard of the mosque.The library, located in the northeast minaret, serves the community with classic books and publications addressing a range of Islamic subjects: sciences, civilization, calligraphy, the arts, and coins, including some rare publications There are four minarets on the four corners of the courtyard which rise about 107 m (351 ft) in height. The courtyard, with its floral design, measures about 17,000 m2 (180,000 sq ft), and is considered to be the largest example of marble mosaic in the world.

Presidencial Place To celebrate the heritage of the country, Sheikhs Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates) and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces) decided to open the palace to the public in 2019. Prior to its opening, the palace was used only for official purposes, Mainly hosting foreign leaders of states,and for meetings of the country's supreme council and federal cabinet. Even after being opened to the public, the palace continues to be used for these purposes. With a façade made of white granite and limestone, the mainly white palace is intricately designed and ornately decorated. It includes a dome with a diameter of 37 m (121 ft), a chandelier with 350,000 pieces of crystal, and a number of compartments.The dome is located on top of the central chamber known as "The Great Hall", which is surrounded by two wings to the east and west.
