With an interesting collection of artifacts from different eras preserved in a beautifully restored fort, the Ajman House Museum is one of the emirate's most visited historical attractions. In the 18th century, the fort served as the ruler's residence until 1970. A decade later, the fort became a museum. In the museum there is a section dedicated to the pearl trade that once dominated the region's economy. One of the most notable exhibits is the pottery and funerary jewelry dating back to 3000 BC.
