Staying in Cairo

I would suggest if you are planning to go to Cairo then stay in the Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel. It is one of the best hotels in Cairo and will give you the correct feel of pampering yourself. It has magnificent rooms and amazing restaurants which serve a wide variety of food.

Apart from the hotel offering you a comfortable and luxurious stay it has the perks of being close to a lot of sights worth seeing such as the Egyptian Museum, The Giza Pyramids, The Citadel, The Khan Khalili Bazar Market, Greek Orthodox Church of St. George and the Cairo Tower.

For kids, there are numerous fun places to go to like the Magic Land which has its own theme park, Dream Park a wonderful amusement park, Giza Zoo and Crazy Water which has some wonderful water activities. So you see, you are pretty much sorted if you plan your stay in this hotel as it is very close to most of these attractions.

Go to the Citadel to get the best of Cairo

If you are interested in seeing the magnificent view of Cairo stretching right till the pyramids in front of you then you need to visit the Citadel. Built on top of a hill by Saladin (ruler of the city), in order to protect it from Crusader attacks, it offers a lot to discover like three mosques, the Police Museum, the Egyptian Military Museum with a display of fighter planes outside (very fascinating) and Al-Gawhara Palace.

The pyramids are a must!

The Pyramids of Giza, are for sure the most magnificent sight a person can behold. These pyramids have remained intact for almost 4,500 years There are three primary pyramids, the Great Pyramid of Khufu (the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh buried there was the reason behind the name), Pyramid of Khafre (Khufu’s son), and the Pyramid of Menkaure (constructed by Menkaure who was the successor of Khafre). One can spend hours here and find out fascinating sites to see. It is one place where you won’t get tired clicking pictures so keep your cameras ready!

The Great Sphinx which is situated by the Pyramids of Giza makes your mind boggle with its size (66 feet high and 234 feet long!). It is a depiction of a part pharaoh, part lion being.

Don’t miss the museum

The Egyptian Museum is a treat for history lovers. It has more than 100,000 artefacts from ancient Egypt, (sarcophagi, jewellery and pottery). The main attraction being the Tutankhamun exhibit, featuring treasures from King Tut’s tomb definitely shouldn’t stop you from visiting the Mummy’s room or the other parts of the museum. It is a massive museum and you may not get time to see it all in one day so better to visit it again if you want to explore it entirely.

This absolutely delightful country has a lot to offer and is a delightful experience with friends and family. So hop on the next flight and go visit this magnificent country!
